James Baxter

James Baxter is a renowned British animator known for his contributions to some of the most beloved Disney and DreamWorks films. Born in 1967, Baxter began his career at Disney, quickly establishing himself as an exceptional talent for fluidity and expressiveness in character movements. He is best remembered for animating iconic sequences such as the ballroom dance between Belle and the Beast in Beauty and the Beast and the emotionally charged horse in Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. Baxter also worked on other Disney classics like The Little Mermaid,
Aladdin, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, showcasing a remarkable ability to convey emotion and realism in his characters. Later, he contributed to DreamWorks successes like Kung Fu Panda and Shrek 2, maintaining a style characterized by dynamism and deep expressive sensitivity. After leaving Disney, he founded his own studio, James Baxter Animation, where he works on innovative projects and mentors young animators. His work has inspired entire generations, solidifying his status as a respected and admired figure in the industry.

The 20th edition of NEMOLAND will be held on 4-5-6 october at the Cinema La Compagnia in Florence.
Over 600 students from the art schools of the Nemo Academy were present at the event.
