Claire Keane
Claire Keane is an American illustrator, author, and visual development artist whose work bridges animated film and children’s literature. The daughter of Glen Keane and granddaughter of Bil Keane, creator of “The Family Circus”, she grew up in a creative environment that nurtured her passion for drawing and storytelling. She studied at the École Supérieure d’Arts Graphiques in Paris, where she developed her artistic voice.
She began her career at Walt Disney Animation Studios, contributing to films such as “Enchanted”, “Tangled”, “Wreck-It Ralph”, and “Frozen”. During the production of “Tangled”, her work shaped much of the film’s visual development, most notably the murals painted by Rapunzel, which she hand-painted on the studio walls.
In 2013, she left Disney to focus on writing and illustrating children’s books. Her work is known for its poetic storytelling and expressive imagery, as seen in titles such as “Once Upon a Cloud”, “Little Big Girl”, and “Love Is”. Her latest book, “Who Are You?”, follows a young girl exploring nature while discovering her identity. Today, Claire Keane continues to work across animation and publishing, sharing her creative process and artistic journey with new audiences.
